A new endorsement and some additional information

Hi all, 

Thank you once again for all of the wonderful support. We have now reached 560+ signers. Continue sharing, spreading the word and contacting decision makers. It is our collective effort that will make the difference. I've compiled a spreadsheet of decision makers for easy copying. 

We have our first formal endorsement of the petition from the St. Louis Park Historical Society. You can read their letter here. We are so grateful for them for sharing the history of this neighborhood and our oldest residents, the bur oaks. 

Residents who attended the information shared some information that I want to recount here:

• The bike path is a project of the Three Rivers Park District, and the city is working alongside them.
• There has not been a decision as to which side of the street will have the bike bath, but each plan impacts a large amount of trees (either 47 or 58). The oaks are affected in both. 
• They are also discussing making the east/west train crossings a quiet zone and possibly rebuilding the track crossing on Brookside at the Edina border. This is an area with very limited visibility. 
• The traffic studies that they did on Brookside occurred at the same time as when Vernon Avenue and the 50th Street bridge were closed in Edina, which funneled quite a large amount of traffic to our neighborhood. We need to urge the city to re-do this. Their data does not reflect the normal amount of traffic in Brookside/Creekside. 

We are looking into creating yard signs for those of us who want to illustrate our support. More on that soon!
