Thank You.

For your support - in person or in spirit - we thank you.

To all the march participants, young and old, we salute your courage & determination to walk with us.

To our supporters, in Samoa and overseas, who could not be with us this morning, we stood together on your behalf and carried you with us.

A special thank you to Reverend Onosa'i So'o, who lead us in prayer for peaceful resolutions.

To our brave speakers who shared poems and personal reflections on what a Ceasefire means to them, we show gratitude for your courage.

We are also grateful for the kind support of the Samoa Police, Samoa Red Cross, and all our sponsors who gave generously of their time and resources in acknowledgment of this initiative.

The Petition to urge the government to advocate for a total and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the West Bank was not handed over due to the absence of a government representative.

Despite our best efforts through advanced written invitations, follow-ups and visits to the offices of our elected leaders, there was no response, advice nor effort to meet our group today in order to receive the petition that has been signed by 1000+ Samoans For Ceasefire supporters.

This is unacceptable and flies in the face of the principles of democratic governance. We expect more from our elected officials.

Going forward, the Samoans For Ceasefire organising committee will now work towards securing a meeting with the relevant government officials to officially hand over the petition.

We will continue to raise awareness and advocate for more transparency and commitment from our government for a total and permanent ceasefire in Palestine.

Thank you and God Bless.
