Hello everyone,
Thank you to everyone supporting this campaign — we’ve now reached 2,074 signatures! 🙌 A special thanks to the many politicians and activists who have shared my call for the online protest for those unable to attend the Stormont protest on 3rd November.
This morning, I discovered my X/Twitter account had been locked due to the online protests. At the same time, some Sinn Féin MLAs have restricted Facebook comments to non-followers and limited new followers to a 24-hour wait before commenting.
These actions — from both Sinn Féin and the Department for Infrastructure — are not acts of respect. They are attempts to silence disabled voices. This behaviour is fuelled by a lack of willingness to listen, combined with prejudice and the discriminatory excuse of a “lack of money” to make this change. Silencing disability voices is disgusting, and I will continue my online protests — and encourage others to do the same.
By doubling down and refusing accountability, Sinn Féin and the DFI are failing to deliver on a basic human right: free public transport for disabled people. They are letting people down, again and again.
The choice remains simple and respectful:
✅ End the campaign by granting free public transport for disabled people
❌ Or continue ignoring us — and face continued protests.
We are not asking for luxury. We are asking for a basic necessity that allows us to contribute to society, attend medical appointments, allowing us to visit our friends/family and access education and employment.
We will not be silenced.
We will not go away.
