Hello everyone!

There is a positive response to the protest, confirmed to go through no problem with Stormont and PSNI. If you can't attend the protest, don't worry as you can take part online from now.

To help with the protest, you can go to the Department For Infrastructure's review page and say you can not recommend it due to this. This is the link for Facebook Department For Infrastructure: (Facebook) Department for Infrastructure - Review  (This only works in Change.org) - Facebook and X will be a different process.

You can also go to Department For Infrastructure Facebook page and type in the comments "FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN NI NOW!!!!" You can do that in their X as well.

Also, you can go to every Sinn Fein page and type in "FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN NI NOW!!!!" in the comments to add up the pressure!

If you would like to help out further, please use this template to send an email over to every Sinn Fein Elected persons be it MLA, Cllr, TD and MEP. Copy and paste this into your draft with the representative's name.

Subject: Urgent Concern: Lack of Support for Free Public Transport for People with Disabilities

Dear [Representative's Name],

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to you not only as a constituent, but as a disabled person/someone who supports people with disabilities who feels increasingly ignored and disrespected by both the Department for Infrastructure and Sinn Féin in relation to the ongoing failure to implement free public transport for people with disabilities.

Sinn Féin has long claimed to champion equality and inclusion. Yet on this issue—a basic matter of dignity and accessibility—those values feel like little more than empty slogans. Many disabled individuals rely on public transport to live independently, attend medical appointments, access education or employment, and participate in society. The continued failure to provide free access effectively isolates and marginalises us.

We are told there is “no money.” But that excuse no longer holds weight. Where there is political will, there is always a way. It is not acceptable that people with disabilities remain overlooked while resources are found elsewhere. The current system feels discriminatory and dismissive of our lived realities.

I want to make it clear that support is growing for protest action on this issue. I stand with those who are prepared to speak out and push for change. This isn’t just about policy—it’s about respect.

I am reaching out to ask: Will Sinn Féin publicly support the call for free public transport for all people with disabilities? Will your party finally act in line with its commitments to equality? Will they also use the time that they have in office to make the changes a reality?

I would appreciate a response, and more importantly, a commitment to change.

Sincerely,
