A protest is something I would like to avoid but there is no alternative at this time. Today I would like to confirm and share that a protest is happening at Stormont grounds at the front of the building outside of the railings between the statue and the railings. The date of the protest is going on the 3rd November 2025, at 12pm for an hour.
I contacted politicians to spread the word about the protest and the media will be notified as well.
While I am wrapping this part of the letter up, I would like to use this as an opportunity to use this post as an open letter to Minister Kimmins, First Minister Michelle O'Neill and the rest of the Sinn Fein Party.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Minister Kimmins, Minister O'Neill and the rest of the Sinn Fein Party,
For years, you're been wanting to work with your colleagues based on equality, respect and reconciliation and you've been claiming to want this from other members of the community. I am going to say as someone with hidden disabilities I feel the complete opposite.
While I commend DFI Minister Kimmins and First Minister O'Neill for their time with me. I spoken to past advocates in this issue, they were in the meeting before Nichola Mallon has announced her intention to make Public Transport for Free for people with disabilities that one of your colleagues in Sinn Fein who was Mallon's Predecessor says that there was no money in the department for this. It seems to be a pattern and frankly we can't accept it as an excuse anymore.
Protests will be held until there is changes to the concessionary fares scheme as this is deeply unfair that our friends in the rest of the UK and ROI can enjoy free public transport. Protests will be from November and they will continue until the changes are made.
To round off this letter, please find it in your hearts to change your mind regarding this issue and please enable us to have the same rights as the rest of the UK and ROI and please do not use our rights as an excuse for lack of money. We are not accepting it anymore.
Kindest Regards
Aaron
