Urge the Kentucky parole board to keep INMATE Deborah Huiett incarcerated
The Issue
In May of 1999, a family's world, along with many others, was shattered. Tina Rae Stevens, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, was brutally murdered by Deborah Huiett in a fit of uncontrollable jealousy and rage. The monster who took Tina's life away has not changed her ways in the two decades since her conviction. Inmate Deborah Huiett, known in the Kentucky Department of Corrections as #187729, has continued to demonstrate violent behavior and a complete lack of remorse or rehabilitation. Highlighted by additional time recently added to her incarnation. As well as losing her parole hearing in 2025 because of this.
The safety of our community is at risk with the possibility of her release. The purpose of this petition is to urge the Kentucky parole board to exercise their statutory and administrative authority under KRS 439.340, and such rules as 501 KAR 1:030, to issue an indefinite serve-out for Inmate Deborah Huiett.
It is paramount that the board recognizes the danger posed by this individual. During her incarceration, she has shown no signs of redemption or the ability to reintegrate into society peacefully. Her past and continuing actions illustrate a person who remains a threat to the innocent lives she might encounter if released. Backed up by her continued threats towards the victim Tina Rae's family and supporters.
The statistics speak for themselves; offenders with histories of violent behavior have a significantly higher rate of recidivism, putting our communities at heightened risk. Tina Rae Stevens' murder was not an isolated lapse in judgement but an act of cold-blooded brutality, and our laws ensure that society should be protected from such irreparable harm.
We implore the parole board to heed to the voice of justice, the voice of a community left in fear, the voices of a shattered family and the enduring cries for safety and righteousness. We need to send a strong message: NO MORE PAROLE for INMATE Deborah Huiett!!!
