Here’s an update on my petition for the Commonwealth Bank to reconsider its decision to close its Kenmore Village branch.

First, I want to thank every one of the 797 residents who have signed my online petition this week. Such an unbelievable response in only a few days highlights the level of anger and disappointment in our local community.

Today, I have written to the Commonwealth Bank outlining the concerns of residents and the impacts I believe this closure will have on the community, particularly our small businesses and elderly residents who want to retain face to face contact with branch staff in their dealings with the bank.

I have asked the Bank to take these concerns seriously and requested they review the proposed Kenmore Branch closure. I will keep the community updated on any developments regarding this matter.
