Catholics of the Archdiocese of St. Louis,

Several Catholics, including myself, have reached out to the Archdiocese of St. Louis' office to inquire whether Archbishop Rozanski and the Archdiocese will issue a statement regarding the assassination of Christian, conservative commentator, and pro-life activist Charlie Kirk.

After repeated attempts to contact the Archdiocese via email and phone, no statement on the matter as of today, September 17th, has been issued. I am launching this petition to urge Archbishop Rozanski to issue a forceful public statement immediately regarding the murder of Charlie Kirk, the celebration of his murder, and other issues that have followed.

In the past, Archbishop Rozanski has issued statements and spoken on issues such as "systemic racism", the death of George Floyd, the Derek Chauvin verdict, attacks on the property of Jewish individuals in Clayton, "Islamophobia", and gun violence. In this time of division and polarization, we, the lay faithful, look to our shepherd, the Archbishop, for guidance and assurance following this tragedy. It is crucial for Church leadership and the Archbishop to address political violence, attacks on Christians, and assaults on free expression of faith-based values.
