Urge the American Board of ObGyn (ABOG) to Relocate Their Headquarters from Texas

Urge the American Board of ObGyn (ABOG) to Relocate Their Headquarters from Texas
The Issue
This is for everyone supporting reproductive health.
I am an obstetrician, a staunch supporter of a woman's right to choose. I believe in the importance of reproductive rights and healthcare access for all women. It is with this conviction that I call upon the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) to relocate their headquarters from Texas, a state known for its restrictive abortion laws, to another state that respects and upholds abortion rights.
The ABOG represents obstetricians and gynecologists nationwide who are committed to improving women's health through their practice. However, maintaining their headquarters in Texas sends an incongruous message given the state's stance on abortion rights. In 2021, Texas passed one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country (source: Guttmacher Institute), severely limiting access to safe abortions.
By staying in Texas, ABOG is inadvertently endorsing these restrictions which contradict our professional commitment towards supporting women’s choices about their bodies. This move would not only align with our values as healthcare providers but also send a strong message about our unwavering support for women's reproductive rights.
Everyone in Texas is affected. Requiring pregnant ObGyns to be forced to be examined for their Board in a state that is against women's reproductive healthcare presents an unethical stance and prevents them from getting the proper care if there is a complication while in Texas.
Please sign this petition urging ABOG to relocate its headquarters from Texas to a more supportive state where they can continue advocating for comprehensive reproductive health care without contradiction or compromise.
