As a concerned American citizen, I believe our democracy is at stake. This belief has led me to start this petition, urging pop icon Taylor Swift to publicly endorse Joe Biden for President. With her influence reaching millions of young Americans, her endorsement could be pivotal in encouraging the youth vote. According to the Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE), young voters (ages 18-29) significantly contributed to Biden's victory in the 2020 Presidential Election with an estimated voter turnout of 50-52% - a notable increase from 2016's 42-44%. However, there is always room for improvement and we need every voice we can get.

Taylor Swift has been increasingly vocal about political issues recently, breaking her long-held silence on politics during the midterm elections in 2018. She has shown that she understands the power of her platform and isn't afraid to use it when it matters most.

Swift revealed her political stance for the first time in 2018; she endorsed Democratic politicians Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper in the 2018 U.S. midterm elections in Tennessee, her home state, via a highly publicized Instagram post. Aligned with liberalism, Swift is pro-choice, an advocate of gender equality and LGBT rights, and a vocal critic of racism, white supremacy, police brutality, sexism, and homophobia. She criticized Trump's administration and Republican politician Marsha Blackburn, a senator representing Tennessee. She advocated for the Equality Act, the creation of Juneteenth as a national holiday, and the removal of Confederate statues in Tennessee and endorsed Democrat Joe Biden's successful bid in the 2020 U.S. presidential election.
