Urge SYBO Games to Add Safety Warning Messages & Support Anti-Subway Surfing Campaigns
The Issue
In recent years, New York City has tragically lost 11 teenagers to subway surfing, including a recent incident involving a 10-year-old engaging in this dangerous activity. I deeply empathize with the parents who have lost a child to such a perilous act, as well as the emotional burden faced by train operators involved in incidents where teens or children are harmed.
Subway Surfer, a popular game by SYBO Games, is beloved by many and provides entertainment to millions of people worldwide. However, there are concerns about the potential influence of the game on impressionable teenagers, especially as the game depicts characters performing stunts on trains that can mirror real-life dangers.
We would like to suggest a way for SYBO Games to help promote safety through the game. We believe that a visible warning message, placed before the game starts, could be a simple yet powerful step. The message could read, "Do not attempt the actions in this game in real life. These stunts can lead to serious injuries or death." This could serve as a reminder to players of the inherent risks associated with such activities, while still allowing them to enjoy the game in a safe and responsible manner.
We also believe that, given the company’s previous philanthropic efforts, this could be a great opportunity for SYBO Games to further its positive impact by joining efforts to raise awareness about subway surfing. With over 4 billion lifetime downloads, the game has a massive influence, and adding such a message could make a significant difference.
Please consider supporting this cause if you believe in promoting safety awareness among our youth while maintaining the fun and enjoyment that Subway Surfer brings to players.
