The Issue

Fostering dogs has been a passion of mine, and when I had the chance to care for Sheila and her adorable litter of puppies, it was a heartwarming experience. These dogs, Sheila and her babies, four males and four females, were only 15 days old when they were impounded on April 13th. Since then, and even before, many generous individuals have pledged significant amounts of money to ensure the welfare and care of Sheila and her pups. However, as of now, we are in the dark about their current condition and whereabouts.

Being their foster, I am deeply invested in their safety and well-being. It's concerning and distressing not to receive necessary updates or any kind of transparency from animal control and the Sonoma County shelters regarding these animals. The lack of communication not only affects me but also the people who have financially committed to this family’s welfare.

We are seeking a transparent and regular update system from the authorities involved to foster a sense of trust and accountability. This includes clarity on their health status, housing conditions, and any other pertinent information regarding their impoundment. An open line of communication will not only help to assist in their care but also ensure that the pledges and support they need are adequately met.

For those living in Healdsburg, CA, and beyond who share a love for animals and believe in accountability and transparency, we urge you to join us in this effort. Together, our voices can compel the necessary systems to work more openly and efficiently for the welfare of Sheila and her pups.

Please sign this petition to encourage Sonoma County animal control and shelters to provide us with consistent updates on the condition and status of Sheila and her children and the many more to come as well as those come to pass.

Thank you Sonoma county and all who sighn
