As a 16-year-old player, I find immense joy in Roblox's roleplay servers, mini-games, and social interactions. However, recent chat restrictions have severely impacted my ability to engage with my friends. What was once a vibrant and lively platform has now become muted and isolated. Whether in a collaborative game or just chatting for fun, I'm limited to communicating with only one or two people at a time. This issue doesn't just affect me—it’s a widespread problem plaguing teens across Roblox, forcing many to abandon the platform altogether.

Roblox has always been a frontier of creativity and collaboration, a place where players of all ages come together to enjoy myriad activities. But it must be acknowledged that players have different needs based on their age group. The recent restrictions may aim to protect younger users, but they inadvertently hinder older teens' ability to interact and partake in the community. This change has significantly disrupted the social experience, diminishing the essence of interaction that makes Roblox's community so unique and engaging.

What we propose is a balanced age-based chat system. Such a system would safeguard younger children while allowing teens to communicate more freely. Roblox could implement tiered chat settings, where age verification checks are in place but ensure that older adolescents are not curtailed in their social interactions. This balanced approach would not compromise the safety of younger players while allowing teens the freedom to enjoy the platform as it was intended.

Introducing a nuanced chat system offers a practical solution to this pressing issue. It would help retain the diverse community that Roblox prides itself on, ensuring that players of all ages can enjoy and engage in the community fully. Restoring the vibrancy and dynamic interaction for teen players will see them remain on the platform, contributing to its growth and enrichment rather than leaving due to frustration and limitation.

We call upon Roblox to review and revise their current chat restrictions and develop a chat system that distinguishes and accommodates the needs of its diverse age groups. Doing so will ensure that Roblox remains a place of creativity, fun, and social engagement for everyone involved. Let us bring back the joy and interaction we cherish by signing this petition today.

So there is my idea for new safe, legal and improved system for all of us. 

Under 13: Full restrictions, filtered chat, parental approval, and trusted connections only. Safe interactions with peers and can normally type with 13–15 but with parental approval, when it comes to 16+ and 18+ the trusted connection needed by strictly parent approved adults, and what I meant by it are adults parents. under‑13 kids cannot meet strangers, predators are slowed down, and teens can interact responsibly.

13–15: Partial restrictions, optional parental control for normal chat. Parental approval required to chat with 18+/trusted adults. Can chat with peers (13–15), under 13, and 16–17 safely.

16+: Free to chat with anyone (Need to be trusted connection for -13 though) 13-15, 16+, 18+, 21+, no extra verification

Teens can interact responsibly with peers and older players without invasive ID checks

18+: Full access. ID verification only required to prove age 18+ for adult features or interactions with younger users, the 21+ users can normaly interact with 16+ , after all its normal in real life too, can only talk with verified 13-15, and as trusted connection below 13"

21+: The same as 18+
