I am a proud veteran and currently still serve our country in a civilian aspect. In the military, I learned the values of solidarity and the necessity of speaking out against those who harm Americans. Today, as a concerned citizen, I am using my voice to prevent the appointment of unprepared and unsuitable individuals to highly sensitive posts affecting national defense and the rule of law. I bring to light two imminent nominations, Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, and Matt Gaetz for Attorney General. 

Pete Hegseth, despite being a veteran, lacks the necessary experience for the role, and has shown a tendency towards misogyny. He promotes divisive rhetoric, against other Americans, calling them "America's domestic enemies". Pete Hegseth does not represent the Army values. He supports individuals who commit war crimes. How can we trust him to not turn against Americans who do not fall in line with his backwards ideals? 

The office of the Secretary of Defense requires a seasoned diplomat well versed in complex international politics and military strategy. His appointment could jeopardize our military and national security. 

Furthermore, we have Matt Gaetz, a man who is under investigation for sex trafficking allegations. His appointment to the position threatens the credibility of the office of the Attorney General, compromising the integrity of our legal institutions. We cannot have a man who is suspected of serious ethical violations and potential legal infringements representing this critical office. 

The alarming prospect of these nominations must be addressed. We owe it to ourselves, our friends, our families, and our neighbors to place truth and justice above party lines. Joining hands, we must demand the Republican lawmakers to block these nominations, as they pose a significant threat to the principles America holds dear.
