Donald Trump has made great efforts to reduce abortion but it’s not over yet. Unfortunately he has left the decision to the states. This petition is to ask him to reconsider his efforts and to complete the work of protecting the unborn. We ask president elect Donald Trump to legally define the beginning of life at conception and to do this at the federal level. The states will then follow and this needs to be done to save all children facing abortion. It’s not up to the individual states to define what a human being is, it is the job of the federal government to protect human life as it is. 

As a deeply devout Catholic and passionate advocate for equal rights to life, I am compelled to raise a voice of concern over the current discourse on the issue of abortion. I firmly believe that the value of a person's life does not alter based on their circumstances, mothers and babies included. Our society stands on the pillar of justice and it is critical to highlight that every life - mothers and unborn babies - carries an immeasurable worth. Also we love God as much as we love the least. Jesus says “whatever you do unto these little ones, you do unto me”

With this belief in my heart and mind, I respectfully urge President-Elect Donald Trump to reconsider his stance on a federal ban on abortion. I appeal to him not to veto any legislation brought before him that seeks to enact this ban, but rather to make a federal ban on abortion happen as soon as possible. History is in the making and just like those who stood against slavery while it was still contested. Let’s be confident and stand on the right side of history before the change. Let us be confident to make the right decision. 

We, as a society, need to foster an environment where life is cherished, where every pregnancy is wanted, and every child is welcomed into this world with love.

Around the globe some countries have strong laws against abortion which align with the principles on which human dignity is founded. I respectfully request President-Elect Donald Trump to heed this call and to utilize his executive power in defense of the most vulnerable. The USA can break the tradition of cowardice to finally end the massacre of the innocents and to inspire other nations to defend and protect children.
