I am a concerned citizen, deeply troubled by the potential return of Donald Trump to the Presidency. His previous tenure was marked by actions and decisions that threatened our democracy. The thought of him returning, possibly with immunity granted by the Supreme Court, is a fear that keeps me awake at night. It feels like we are regressing to an era of tyrannical kings which our forefathers fought so hard to escape from.

Donald Trump's presidency was characterized by numerous controversies and allegations of misconduct. According to The New York Times, there were over 30 investigations related to him during his term in office (The New York Times, 2021). If he returns with immunity, it would set a dangerous precedent for future leaders who might exploit this privilege, should Presidential elections continue, they may not.

The possibility of another Trump presidency also raises concerns about the complete demolition of our democracy, with the potential for Trump to just install the next leader, even Ivanka, who we know wants to be the first woman US President.

Therefore, we call on President Biden to consider detaining Donald Trump in Guantanamo, or another prison not on the US mainland, should the Supreme Court grant presidential immunity. Biden would have the power to do so, with no repercussions. This is not just about one man; it's about preserving the integrity of our democracy and ensuring that no individual can undermine it with impunity.
