Dear President Biden and Former President Donald Trump,

We humbly and respectfully ask that you mutually agree to step down from the 2024 presidential race.

For each of you, there are 100+ million Americans who feel that you have done a great service to our country and are grateful you had a term in office. However, we who supported you now feel that it is best for our country to have a new president. This is a unique request, but it comes at a time when our nation is deeply divided. The Pew Research Center reports that political polarization in America has reached record levels during and after the 2016 and 2020 elections (Pew Research Center, 2021). By stepping aside, both of you could pave the way for new voices who might help heal this divide. This isn't about party politics (or about age); it's about finding a path forward for our country that can bring us together rather than further apart.

Thank you for your consideration and for making a decision based on what is best for our country and not personal ambitions as great leaders have always done.
