As a Jewish student at Penn State, I am one among many who are deeply affected by the actions of Hamas. We are hurting and feel unseen by our school. This is not about politics, Israel or Palestine, but about human lives that have been lost due to the horrific actions of this organization.

Hamas has been responsible for numerous attacks resulting in hundreds of Jewish deaths. But it's not just Jews who have suffered; hundreds of civilians in Gaza have also tragically lost their lives as a result of the actions of Hamas.

Penn State prides itself on being an institution that values diversity and inclusivity, yet its silence on this matter contradicts these values. The statement that has been released failed to condemn Hamas and failed to make us feel heard.  By condemning Hamas' actions, Penn State can send a strong message that it stands with all students against acts of terrorism and violence.

We call upon the administration to publicly condemn these acts and show solidarity with its Jewish students as well as all those affected by such atrocities worldwide.
