Parkway Drive Pty Ltd has finally admitted that they bore "moral responsibility" for employing Jed Gordon, now a convicted sex offender,  on and off since 2003.

Simultaneously, Parkway Drive are about to embark on a sold out Australia tour expected to generate them well in excess of $5 million revenue.

Jed Gordon, brother of Parkway Drive drummer Ben,  was referenced as their "sixth band member". He benefited from his proximity to the band.  The association gave him legitimacy and access to young fans through all-ages shows.

Multiple women have made allegations against Jed, who was also known informally in the scene as "Jed the Ped".

His business card listed his title as Parkway Drive "tour manager/merch dude" and read: "We should hang out later, your [sic] cute!"

Parkway Drive Pty Ltd put Jed in a position of power, granting access to vulnerable young fans. At best, it is them being negligent in their obligations to establish whether Jed was fit to work around children. At worst, it was them knowingly facilitating a culture of abuse of young girls. 

There is evidence to suggest the latter, given further revelations of songs produced by Parkway Drive Pty Ltd bassist Jia O'Connor. These songs make derogatory comments about individual teen girls and rap about perpetrating rape. One track makes reference to a 24-year-old "breaking the hymen" of 12-year-olds.

There has been no consequence for Parkway Drive Pty Ltd or the band members for their role in perpetuating these crimes. Jed has avoided jail time, sentenced only to a community corrections order. The band has proceeded to embark on an Australia wide tour celebrating albums from the exact early 2000s era that the crimes in question were perpetrated. Tickets are selling out venues across Australia, and at $170 a ticket, are set to make Parkway Drive Pty Ltd a substantial profit. The tour is expected to generate more than $5m in ticket revenue alone. Merch sales will take that to a substantially higher amount. 

We call upon Parkway Drive Pty Ltd to donate all proceeds from their upcoming "Killing Horizons" Australian tour to domestic violence shelters. Show us that you are finally starting to take seriously your role in this. Show us that you can contribute positively to the welfare of the community that has supported you and made you the successful band that you are.
