Urge Online Dating Companies to Revise Their Lifetime Ban Policies

Urge Online Dating Companies to Revise Their Lifetime Ban Policies
The Issue
In today's digital age, meeting people has become increasingly dependent on online platforms, especially dating apps. As someone who has experienced the challenges of connecting with others in a world dominated by a few major players in the online dating industry, I understand how crucial these platforms are for building relationships. Unfortunately, many individuals are being banned for life from these services under questionable circumstances.
These lifetime bans effectively remove people from the modern dating pool and can have serious impacts on their social lives and mental health. It is essential that we address this issue and ensure fair treatment for all users of these platforms.
There is currently no comprehensive data available on how many people have been affected by such bans. However, anecdotal evidence suggests that it's not an insignificant number. This lack of transparency itself is problematic and needs to be addressed.
We call upon online dating companies to revise their lifetime ban policies and implement more transparent processes when dealing with alleged violations of terms of service. Everyone deserves a second chance; let's make sure our voices are heard so that everyone can continue to seek connections in this digital age.
Please sign this petition if you believe in fair access to online dating platforms for all users.

1)
It is very hard to meet people without apps nowadays
people also grow, change, and learn from their mistakes.
2)
Sometimes people report you out of spite, mistake (like thinking you are a bot or scammer but arent or press the wrong button), exaggerate what happened, are old ex's/enemies, misread sarcasm
3)
We live a longer life, more often to date many people throughout entire life rather than one and done or marriage early and forever like in the old days
4)
Only a few apps control the entry online dating industry, and mainly one company -The Match Group effectively making it a monopoly
5)
Lifetime bans should only be for serious offenses like assault, death threats, in person stalking.
6)
Too many people permanently banned for silly reasons or when they were young and immature
7)
There is no transparency, due process or appealing allowed, outside online dating in a legal setting you are innocent in proven guilty and able to defend yourself. At least allow a more transparent system or ability to know why you got banned or defend yourself
8)
If no other logic can convince these companies, then tell them they are missing out on lots of profits for their shareholders by the people they banned unable to use the app and pay for subscriptions anymore. Plus it leads to less users that others can match with and date that are compatible.
9)
Not everyone banned is guilty, evil, bad or terrible and definitely not terrible forever, things aren't always black and white
10)
At least allow a timeout system like one month ban then 3 month then 6 month then one year, 5 year etc
