Urge Newham Council and Stratford Police to Address Anti-Social Behaviour
The Issue
As a resident in the heart of Newham, specifically Holness Road, Maitland Road, and Tavistock Road, I have witnessed a steady increase in antisocial behaviour from drug users, alcoholics, and sex workers. This ongoing issue profoundly affects the safety and well-being of the community. Daily life has become a challenge as constant disturbances echo through our streets, and the fear of property damage becomes a real and persistent concern.
Our right to live in a peaceful and safe environment is being compromised. The emotional toll on families is significant, as parents worry for their children’s safety and residents fear for their property and personal security. The sense of community that once thrived is being eroded, leaving residents increasingly frustrated and isolated.
Statistics show that areas plagued by high levels of antisocial behaviour see a drop in property values, increased crime rates, and strained community relations. According to recent data, incidents in our area have doubled over the last year alone.
We call on Newham Council and the Stratford Police to take immediate and decisive action to combat this growing issue. Implementing regular police patrols, increasing surveillance in notorious hotspots, and providing resources for rehabilitation programs aimed at helping those afflicted by substance abuse and homelessness can make a significant difference.
It is time to take a stand and restore the safety and dignity of our streets. By signing this petition, you join us in urging local authorities to prioritise and address the antisocial behaviours disrupting our community. Let’s work together to reclaim our neighbourhood and rebuild a community where all residents can feel safe and secure. Please sign this petition to demand action from Newham Council and Stratford Police.
