Urge Moonee Valley City Council to Improve Strathnaver Reserve's Infrastructure

Urge Moonee Valley City Council to Improve Strathnaver Reserve's Infrastructure
The issue
I am a resident of Mascoma Street, living in close proximity to Strathnaver Reserve. My family and I frequently visit the club multiple times per week during the season. However, our safety is constantly at risk due to poor signage and access to the car park. The lack of sufficient car parking spaces and marked car parks within easy walking distance poses a significant danger not only to my family but also to over 250 young players and their families who are part of our growing community club.
Strathnaver Reserve is a vital hub for our local football (soccer) community in Strathmore and a key driver of community health and well-being. Yet, its current state does not meet the needs of its users nor does it provide safe and accessible facilities for everyone. We urge Moonee Valley City Council to take urgent action on this matter.
The upgrade should include improved signage that clearly directs traffic flow and pedestrian movement around the reserve, enhanced access points ensuring they are safe for all users especially children, elderly and persons with a disability as well as an expansion of car park infrastructure that can accommodate the increasing number of visitors.
We believe these improvements will significantly reduce potential risks associated with poor visibility or inadequate parking facilities while promoting an inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy their time at Strathnaver Reserve without worry.
We call upon you - residents, parents, friends - anyone who cares about safety in our community - join us in urging Moonee Valley City Council to prioritise this issue immediately. Your signature can make a difference; it will send a clear message that we value safety above all else at Strathnaver Reserve. Please sign this petition today!
