We invested our hard-earned money in Meta Portal devices, believing in the technology's promise to keep us connected with loved ones. Now, however, these devices, which could continue to serve their original purpose, are being shackled by unnecessary software constraints, reducing them to mere electronic waste.

Other tech giants have set precedents by allowing their customers to unlock and repurpose devices, thus extending their lifespan and reducing environmental impact. Encouragingly, where companies have taken steps to embrace repairability and reusability, both environmental impact and customer satisfaction have seen positive results.
