We recognize the essential role educators play in our society, directly impacting the growth and development of our children. This fundamental belief motivates us to call upon the Board of Education and administration of Madison Public Schools to refrain from reducing any faculty or staff budgets, despite the existing deficit.

We understand that budget constraints might present unprecedented challenges. However, a decision as significant as cutting staff budgets could have long-lasting, detrimental effects on the quality of education our children receive. 

We respectfully encourage Madison Public Schools to uphold full transparency in their budget process, particularly regarding healthcare, potential staffing adjustments, and possible budget challenges. We kindly request a clear timeline of discussions with the MEA, BOE, and building leadership. We request that this be included in the budget presentation in April.
