Urge landlord to provide more enclosed dog relief areas all around property

Urge landlord to provide more enclosed dog relief areas all around property

The Issue

Dear Harbour Club Residents:  Have you read our lease lately?

In our lease, we are required to walk dogs only in designated places as noted on the map from leasing office.  We are only allowed to walk our dogs on the property if we plan to relieve them, and we must walk a direct path to the nearest dog area.  These dog walk areas are limited, far away from each other, and not planned strategically for inclement weather like rain and snowstorms.  Landlord fines for not following these strict rules are high.

Our landlord's current pet regulations seem pet-tolerant rather than truly pet-friendly.

The lack of sufficient and enclosed dog relief areas is not just an inconvenience; it is a matter of the well-being and safety of both pets and tenants. Without more designated areas, we are faced with the risk of unsanitary conditions and potential conflicts among pets and neighbors.

By taking the step to construct another (or more) enclosed dog relief areas, our landlord would demonstrate genuine concern for the needs and safety of pet-owners.

Communities thrive when the needs of all their members are considered, including those with pets.

For further information: The Bergen Golf Course behind the property has been taken over by Suffolk County Parks Department, and remains a golf course where pets are not welcomed.

We appeal to the landlord to recognize the crucial role pets play in our lives and to take this step towards true pet-friendliness.  Join us in asking for more enclosed dog relief areas in our rental community, where they are needed.

Sign this petition and also send an email to the landlord directly, to show your support and urge them to act swiftly and responsively.
