The Issue

As a human being with a family — a mother, a father, brothers, and sisters — I cannot stand idly by knowing that my education might be indirectly complicit in supporting a regime responsible for unimaginable suffering.

Since 1948, more than 630,000 Palestinians have been killed through war, displacement, starvation, imprisonment, and bombardment. According to Reuters (October 2025), over 67,000 Palestinians — including more than 20,000 children — have been killed in Gaza in just the past year alone. Entire families have been wiped out. Hospitals have been bombed. Children are starving under siege. These are not isolated “military operations.” These are the lived realities of a people facing annihilation.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) — a subsidiary of Amazon — directly supplies cloud infrastructure and technology to the Israeli government and its military operations. AWS’s contracts with Israel’s Ministry of Defense and tech units provide data and AI capabilities that enable surveillance, targeting, and digital infrastructure supporting occupation and violence.

By continuing to host its platform on AWS, International Schooling is unintentionally aligning with systems that sustain war crimes and apartheid.

Education should be rooted in ethics, compassion, and truth. If we teach empathy and global citizenship, we must also live those values — starting with our institutional choices.

This is not about politics — it’s about humanity. We are students, teachers, and parents who believe in justice, compassion, and moral responsibility.

Why This Matters
By moving away from AWS, International Schooling can set an example for students everywhere — showing that education can be a force for good, not a bystander to injustice. This small act of conscience can ripple outward, inspiring other institutions to evaluate where their technology and money flow.

Every signature is a call for moral clarity.
Every name is a refusal to be silent in the face of genocide.
Every voice matters.

A Better Way Forward — Reliable, Humane, and Global Alternatives
This petition is not only about what we oppose — it’s about what we stand for. There are proven, high-performance alternatives to AWS that align with both ethical responsibility and global reliability:

🌍 Cloudflare R2 — A trusted global platform offering top-tier performance, zero egress fees, and a strong record on data ethics.
☁️ Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage — Transparent, affordable (~90% cheaper than AWS), GDPR-compliant, and proudly independent.
🔒 Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage — Predictable flat pricing with no data-transfer fees, used by schools, universities, and governments worldwide.
⚡ DigitalOcean Spaces — Developer-friendly object storage built for simplicity, scalability, and worldwide access.
These services meet the same technical standards as AWS — sometimes even exceeding them — while offering lower cost, equal reliability, and no moral compromise.

Switching to such providers would not disrupt education. It would enhance it — making International Schooling a pioneer in ethical technology and sustainable digital practice.
