The Issue

Criminal illegal immigrants are hurting and killing South Carolinians. Every day, families are torn apart due to preventable crimes, and our communities are living in fear. It is time to take decisive action to ensure the safety and security of our beloved South Carolina.

The lastest victim of an illegal immigrant crime in S.C. is Larisha Sharell Thompson of Lancaster, She was a 40 year old mother that was murdered by 6 illegal Honduran immigrants ranging in age from 13 to 21 as part of a gang initiation, this was a senseless attack on an innocent victim. These kind of attacks will continue, and crime will rise in our state unless we the people of South Carolina take a stand, and do something about it.

Governor Henry McMaster, we call upon you to request that President Trump deputize all local and state law enforcement officers. By granting them the authority to detain, arrest, and deport illegal immigrants, we believe we can curb the rising crime rate associated with illegal immigration in our state.

Evidence shows that states with strengthened immigration laws and enforcement experience lower crime rates. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, strict enforcement in Arizona led to a drop in crime rates by nearly 12% over five years. South Carolina deserves the same sense of security.

This is not a call against immigration, but a plea for legal and controlled entry into our state. We acknowledge and appreciate the diversity and cultural contributions of immigrants who follow the legal process. However, illegal activities must be confronted with vigor for the safety of our residents.

Local law enforcement officers, who know our communities best, are in an ideal position to act swiftly and effectively, but they need the tools and authority to do so. Deputizing local police would not only empower them but also send a strong message against illegal immigration and crime, making clear that South Carolina is serious about maintaining law and order.

Governor McMaster, your leadership is crucial in this matter. Support us by advocating for the deputization of local and state law enforcement to act against illegal immigration.
