In recent years, I have grown increasingly concerned with the secretive tactics that big tech companies and government agencies, at both local and federal levels, are employing regarding energy and artificial intelligence (AI) projects in Texas. As a community member and property owner, I am alarmed by the lack of regulation and transparency surrounding these projects. There have been zero impact studies conducted, and no regard has been given to property values, privacy concerns, or public opinion. This is not just about technology; it's about the safety and integrity of our community, our environment, and future.

Texas is renowned for its strong and independent identity, but we are at a crossroads. The expanding green energy projects and AI data centers are progressing without the due diligence of thoroughly understanding their potential impacts. We need a pause. We need Governor Greg Abbott to call a special session to halt all ongoing and new projects until comprehensive health and safety impact studies are completed.

These studies must encompass a wide range of factors: environmental implications, protection and usage of water sources, public utilities management, human and animal health risks, infrastructure maintenance requirements, and the capacity of emergency services. It is only through such rigorous examination that we can ensure the sustainable development of our state, without undermining our natural resources and the rights of our citizens.

Though technology and renewable energy promise progress and efficiency, we cannot blindly accept them without confirming they are implemented in a way that is safe and beneficial for all Texans. We demand that no project be allowed to start, continue, or begin operations without these essential studies are in place.
