I am a Senior living in Florida, like many condo owners facing an extremely challenging situation. Immediate requirements for drastic repairs & the mandate for reserve funding have been escalated by my condominium association into $19800 payable at $2900 per month. This led me to fall two months behind, and I am now facing foreclosure on my home of 21 years. It is not just me; thousands of Floridians are experiencing the same harsh reality.

To alleviate this burden, we ask Governor DeSantis & the legislature to consider passing emergency legislation that will grant more time for condo associations to fully fund reserves and to complete repairs that aren't immediately necessary structurally. 

Moreover, establishing a loan fund at 4% interest payable in two to five years depending on amount for owners or associations will facilitate the payment and completion of existing assessments. This fund will significantly ease the financial burden experienced by owners like myself when sudden large expenses occur in our condominium buildings, potentially saving countless Floridians, many on fixed incomes from the threat of foreclosure.

Simultaneously, a declared moratorium on all Association foreclosures for a duration of 2 years will provide temporary relief and the chance for homeowners to catch up on payments without the fear of losing their homes.

We believe these measures will bring much-needed relief, ensuring that seniors, and many others, will not lose their homes due to unmanageable costs. Now it's up to the Governor and the Florida Legislature to act. Please, sign the petition and help Florida citizens keep their homes.
