Urge Goodwill SF Bay to Renew the Lease or Relocate the Menlo Park Boutique

Urge Goodwill SF Bay to Renew the Lease or Relocate the Menlo Park Boutique
The Issue
A year ago, I left my close-knit family in Utah, to do what I thought was become more independent. I started working at the Goodwill Boutique in Menlo Park. A far cry from the draining retail chains of my hometown like JCPenny, this store revealed to me the extraordinary power of a loyal community clientele; individuals who come not merely to shop but to share stories with each other, lift us up during periods of financial struggle, and learn about you. I became familiar with the power of a store full of people who know your name, comfort you during difficult times, and generously offer their time because they genuinely love shopping with us. I thought i came to learn independence, but instead i came to know the power of interdependence.
Our store is more than just a retail shop. It’s a warm and welcoming hub where people come to laugh together, where quality second-hand clothes find new homes, and where revenue supports life-changing training programs and employment opportunities to those who usually wouldn’t have them.
Goodwill Boutique of Menlo Park has been serving our loyal community for 22 years now, and holds a noteworthy rank as one of the highest-income generating locations in our chapter. It brings in roughly $5,500 daily, an impactful contribution to the overall budget of Goodwill San Francisco Bay.
Yet, despite our success and the deep connection we hold within the local community, our home is under threat.
We implore Goodwill of San Francisco Bay to renew the lease for our boutique, or at the very least, to reopen our store in a nearby location. By doing so, we can continue to thrive, grow, and serve our loyal customers and fulfill our chapter's mission.
Your signature seeks to do more than just maintain job security—it is about preserve a staple of a community, and change lives. It’s ann investment in a resilient community, embodying the real essence of the goodwill mission. Sign our petition and help our voice be heard.
