Urge General Mills to Revive Iconic Mascot Cookie Jarvis

Urge General Mills to Revive Iconic Mascot Cookie Jarvis
The Issue
I grew up under the delightful influence of Cookie Jarvis, the magical wizard who was the face of Cookie Crisp. His whimsical presence made breakfasts enjoyable and instilled fond memories that have stayed with me till adulthood. Cookie Jarvis was a cultural icon who motivated children, like me, to look forward to a bowl of Cookie Crisp. Unfortunately, no mascot that has been introduced since then has matched his iconic image or had an impact as profound. And now he sits. Abandoned by his creators.
I believe the way Cookie Jarvis would use his magic to turn a cookie jar into a bowl of Cookie Crisp still reigns supreme to this day. The fact that a lot of people can't even really recall some of the other mascots speaks for itself. Most people that got to experience Cookie Jarvis have held him in there hearts and minds into the present.
Over the years, the presence of mascots in advertising has been proven to greatly influence brand recognition, with studies indicating that children tend to recall and relate to brands better when they're personified through characters or mascots (Schechter, 1993). Cookie Jarvis, with his wizardly charm and inviting smile, had become synonymous with Cookie Crisp and its character. The cookie crook and cookie cop, and both variants of Chip never hit the same way Cookie Jarvis did.
We understand that characters evolve, and so do brands. However, reviving the beloved Cookie Jarvis from his retirement can be a fantastic way of not only acknowledging nostalgia among older fans but also introducing a time-honored icon to a new generation. As loyal consumers and fans of Cookie Crisp, it's our request to bring back the mascot who has enriched so many childhood memories through his touch of magic.
Hence, we ask General Mills to consider reviving Cookie Jarvis, the wizard who made a simple bowl of cereal an enchanting experience for every child who grew up during, and well after, his reign. Let's bring the magic back to the breakfast table. Please sign this petition to let General Mills know how much we want this cultural icon back.
