This news struck a chord deeply with me as a devoted fan of the club who has closely followed the team's journey and victories. I look up to these players not just as athletes, but as global icons with the power to impact and influence millions. However, it's devastating to see them being used in a setting that contradicts the very spirit of fairness and justice that they embody.

Myanmar, once a country bustling with culture and hope, is sadly now under the oppressive grip of an illegal military junta. Innocent civilians, including children, are facing unimaginable atrocities daily, all while their cries for help echo unheard on the international stage. The intention behind inviting these sports legends appears to be a strategic move by the junta to project a facade of normality and garner undeserved legitimacy in the eyes of the world. Such a visit could inadvertently lend tacit approval to the regime's actions and undermine the voices of those suffering.

Football, at its core, is about bringing people together and promoting unity and peace. Yet, the visit of these legends, under the current circumstances, could be manipulated to achieve just the opposite - diverting attention from the ongoing humanitarian crisis and bolstering military-linked institutions and commercial interests. This stands opposed to the values that both Manchester United and its fans hold dear.

I am therefore appealing to these former players, whose achievements we admire and whose principles we respect, to reassess their planned visit. Your presence in Myanmar at this time could have far-reaching implications, not just for your personal image, but for thousands of fans who see you as ambassadors of change and integrity.
