Urge Disney+ to Reinstate Disney Movies

The Issue

I am a long-time fan of Disney, and their movies have been a source of comfort for me in my battle against anxiety and depression. The magic, the joy, and the lessons these films bring have been instrumental in helping me cope with my mental health struggles. However, recently I discovered that several beloved Disney movies are no longer available on Disney+.

Disney films are not just entertainment; they are a source of solace for many people like me who struggle with mental health issues. According to the Mental Health Foundation, watching familiar films can provide comfort and reduce anxiety (Mental Health Foundation). By removing these movies from their platform, Disney+ is inadvertently taking away this important coping mechanism from us.

Moreover, it's not just adults who benefit from these films. A study by Kelly Tackett at Loyola University found that children also use media as a tool for emotional regulation (Loyola University). With over 10 million subscribers in the UK alone (Statista), it's clear that many children could be losing out on this valuable resource.

We understand that licensing agreements may cause some fluctuations in content availability. However, we urge Disney+ to prioritize keeping as many classic and beloved Disney movies on their platform as possible.

Please join me in urging Disney+ to reinstate our cherished childhood memories back onto their platform. Sign this petition today!
