Witnessing the catastrophic effects of the wildfires raging across California, it's clear that urgent action is needed. Right now, six wildfires - the Palisades, Eaton, Kenneth, Hurst, Lidia, and Archer fires - are leaving a path of devastation, taking lives, wrecking homes, and costing us dearly in terms of destroyed land and infrastructure. The fact that entire neighborhoods have been wiped out in the blink of an eye is beyond heartbreaking. These fires have already claimed 10 innocent lives and razed more than 40,000 acres of our beloved Californian land. 

Given the severity and the escalating frequency of these fires, we believe it's time for a shift in our national response strategy. Specifically, we are calling on Congress and the President to Mandate all able-bodied US citizens aged 18-55 to help with these cleanup and rebuilding efforts. This is not a measure we suggest lightly; it is a reflection of the dire circumstances we find ourselves in and the urgency for a large-scale, coordinated response to this disaster.

In times of great crisis, it is the unity, resilience, and collective action of a nation that make a difference. Let's show our Californian residents that when they hurt, we all hurt, and when they need help, they can count on the entirety of their fellow Americans.
