My six children, like countless others, will walk the halls of Chautauqua Lake School District. My own personal experiences and those of my community members underscore the reality that the safety and security of our children should be a priority investment. It is with this conviction in mind that we implore Chatauqua Lake School District to employ a full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) or an armed security officer. 

An SRO or armed security officer in the premises is not just about ensuring safety but also about fostering positive relationships between students and law enforcement officials. According to the National Association of School Resource Officers, the presence of an SRO can significantly reduce incidents of violence and misconduct in schools, providing a safer, more conducive learning environment (NASRO, 2021).

We believe that the implementation of this initiative not only protects our children in the present, but it also provides a sense of protection and peace of mind for our future generations.
