Urge CBSE to have 2 improvement exams this year

The Issue

Many hardworking students have found their dreams of pursuing higher education dashed due to the limitations of the current CBSE board's examination policies. Several of those affected are, It's for several students who deserved more marks and because of which couldn't fulfil the 75% in boards, a JEE criteria which is crucial for admission in colleges and hence, their future., who are dedicated students who, despite their immense efforts, could not secure the 75% eligibility in board exams—a criterion crucial for JEE and subsequently for admission into esteemed colleges.

The crux of the problem lies in the CBSE board's recent implementation of the On Screen Marking (OSM) method. Initially intended to streamline and enhance the marking process, this system has unfortunately resulted in inaccuracies and inconsistencies in marking, significantly affecting students' scores. This method's failure was highlighted by several reports and complaints from students, parents, and educational institutions.

In light of these issues, it is critical that the CBSE board reevaluates its stance and offers a just and fair solution to students. Allowing each student two improvement exams this year can help rectify the unintended consequences of the OSM method. This adjustment would not only provide students with the opportunity to achieve the marks they rightfully deserve but also uphold their aspirations of pursuing higher education without compromise.

Statistics reveal that over thousands of students are impacted by this flawed marking system, and their future academic paths are at stake. The discontent and appeals from the student community underscore the urgent need for action. The CBSE board has a responsibility to ensure that all students are assessed fairly and have access to the opportunities they have worked hard for.

Granting an additional improvement exam opportunity is a practical and fair solution that addresses the shortcomings of the OSM method while acknowledging the extraordinary circumstances students find themselves in this academic year.

Join us in urging the CBSE to amend their current policy and allow two improvement exams per student this year. Sign this petition to support students in securing their future academic pursuits. Your signature can make a difference.
