I have not consumed beef in over two decades. The introduction of the Plant-Based Whopper by Burger King was a game-changer for me. It was surprisingly tasty, reminiscent of how I remember beef tasting, and quickly became my go-to takeaway for the past couple of years. Now, with this option off the menu, my only choice is to turn to competitors for their plant-based burgers.

This isn't just about personal preference - it's about progress. Removing this plant-based alternative from your menu is a significant step backwards in an era where more people are seeking out vegetarian and vegan options for health and environmental reasons. According to The Vegan Society, there were 600,000 vegans in Great Britain in 2019 – four times as many as five years earlier (The Vegan Society).

By removing this option from your menu you're not only alienating a growing demographic but also contributing towards an unsustainable future by promoting meat consumption over plant-based alternatives.

We urge Burger King UK and Ireland to reconsider their decision and bring back the Plant-Based Whopper on their menus - both for those who enjoyed its taste like myself but also those who care about sustainability and animal welfare.
