I write this petition as an Australian who is deeply troubled by my country's position regarding the relationships between Israel, the USA, and Iran. These geopolitical issues are being tainted by falsehoods and destructive actions that go against the principles of peace and justice that I, as an Australian, stand for.

The stand that my beloved country, Australia, has taken in support of Israel - a nation widely criticized for what many international agencies interpret as genocidal actions - is highly worrisome. 

Furthermore, our long time ally, the USA, is enabling these actions. According to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, these include serious war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza and across the middle eastern region and have all occurred in Gaza since October 8, 2023. 

Furthermore, the escalating tensions between the USA and Iran, based on unproven, undisclosed, and non existent evidence of an alleged nuclear weapons program to produce weapons of mass destruction and publicly threatening Iran with bombings, war and destruction increasingly intensify the distress amongst many of my fellow Australians. 

Australia simply cannot afford to blindly follow the USA into yet another unjustified war over weapons of mass destruction that were never found to even exist, as they did in Iraq back in 2011 under the leadership of former United States President George W Bush. 

The world looks to Australia as a country that upholds international law, peace, and justice.

Therefore, our silence or overt support sends a clear message to the world. It is time we uphold those principles and make our stand against genocide, the starvation of innocent Palestinian civillian who are trapped in Gaza right now and have had no electricity for months and have been unable to receive food, medicine, fuel or other emergency relief supplies due to the Israeli blockade for over a month now. We must uphold our beloved Australian principles and make our stance known on Israel’s actions and the USA’s behavior known globally.

Let us petition the Australian Government to condemn Israel for its actions, reprimand the USA for its enabling role, and assert to the rest of the world that Australia will not support such actions. Our country stands firm against genocide and unjustified wars, and it is only right that our foreign policy reflects these crucial values.

Stand alongside me in voicing this call for action. Join me in appealing to the Australian Government to take a rightful stance in international politics aligned with these values, and ensure that we, the people of Australia, truly say NO to genocide and unjustified war.
