Uphold the rights of citizens to protect the Province of BC

Uphold the rights of citizens to protect the Province of BC
The Issue
We believe that the Emergency and Disaster Management Act provides inappropriate powers to local authorities and violates the constitutional rights of British Columbia citizens.
We believe that an early and aggressive initial response to wildfire is critical for effective wildfire management.
We believe BC Wildfire has no intention of performing effective initial attack of wildfire.
We believe that using local resources is a critical component of effective wildfire management.
We believe BC Wildfire will continue a campaign to marginalize and prevent local resources from actioning wildfires.
We believe that the BC Wildfire Service has little interest in stopping wildfires.
We believe that current and previous governments in BC have failed to appropriately incentivize effective wildfire management.
We believe that the wildlands of British Columbia, Indigenous lands, private and commercial properties, transportation corridors, sensitive ecological features, old growth forests, the economy of the province, the future of the province, and the balance of the planet’s atmosphere is at risk from BC Wildfire, and that those precious resources are worth protecting, even at significant cost.
We believe the government of British Columbia has placed their own legal liability, a superficial concern for public safety, and other interests ahead of the province and ahead of the environmental impacts to the planet.
We believe the values of the provincial government are at odds with the province.
We believe that if the government of British Columbia uses the Emergency and Disaster Management Act to prevent citizens from taking action to protect the province, they will be violating basic human rights and the environmental sensitivity of the planet.
We believe there is significant risk of violence should the government attempt to impose their values upon citizens who are upholding the values of the province.
We believe that if violent encounters occur during the 2024 fire season, the provincial government should stand warned, should take accountability for those encounters, should step aside from the seat of government, should call a general election, and should never again seek re-election.
