I am just one of many women across the United States deeply disturbed by Trump's actions. As our rights have come under direct threat, our fears are not merely hypothetical, but grounded in cold, hard reality. His administration is systematically dismantling previously hard-won protections for women – an assault on our rights the likes of which we have not seen in modern history.

Moreover, disturbing instances of extreme measures being proposed make it clear how crucial this time is. The civil liberties of women, synonymous with that of a democratic society, are being eroded. Discussion around tracking pregnant women with ankle bracelets, as if we were livestock, is a terrifying affront to our dignity.

Men will also not go unaffected by these policies. A situation where a woman is unable to access safe, legal abortion following an affair could result in the man facing financial obligations in child support, a situation that he may not have planned or desired.

This goes beyond partisan politics, it’s about standing up for the basic human rights that are integral to our freedoms, not just as women, but as humans. The talk of "purge days" and book banning attempts are highly reminiscent of a dark era in world history which we vowed never to repeat.

Now, women across America are rising up, initiating the 4B movement and fighting back. Until there's a change in administration, men may find their dating options surprisingly sparse.

In view of these alarming narratives, we call upon the Senate to uphold their duty, for the protection of our constitution, to initiate impeachment proceedings against Trump.
