Thank you for taking the time to read our petition. We are residents who have been living on Page Street for about 20 years. However, over the past two to three years, following the Pagewood Green development, things have dramatically changed. The intersection at Wentworth Avenue and Page Street has multiplied in chaos and traffic congestion. It has not only disturbed our peace but caused numerous close calls and minor accidents.

National and local studies indicate that updated and efficient traffic signals can reduce accidents by 50% (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). We need to prevent potential future accidents, reduce traffic congestion, and bring back the quality of life we used to enjoy. We suggest Bayside Council and Transport for NSW to urgently consider upgrading the current traffic signals, potentially incorporating smarter technology that can better respond to real-time traffic patterns.

Residents received plans for the intersection to be upgrade around a decade ago but nothing has been done to date.
