As a water polo player at Waubonsie Valley High School (WVHS), I've always taken pride in representing our school in the water. However, winning teams are built not only on talent and dedication but also on the right facilities. Our current pool, with its shallow end, doesn't meet the standards needed for competitive water polo or swimming. It's frustrating for athletes like me to see continuous improvements to our football field while our aquatic facilities remain outdated and inadequate. Swimming and water polo require a proper environment to train effectively and safely, yet we lack such a facility at WVHS.

The need for a new pool isn’t just about personal passion; it’s about fairness and equal opportunity for all athletes to shine. Our athletes deserve a facility that supports our efforts and ensures our safety. A new pool would offer a better training environment, potentially attract more students to aquatic sports, and help our school teams to excel in local and state competitions.
