As a thriving community- Rancho Del Lago in Vail, Arizona made of diverse families who have migrated here drawn by the charm of our great school district, we find ourselves in the dire need of a well-equipped, safe community park - a place where our children can gather safely to play, socialize and grow. Currently, our community park is lacking important amenities, making it a less attractive and unsafe place for our children. The existing setup forces children to play in the road, leading to hazardous situations. Furthermore, there is no safety path for residents to walk or for children to ride their bikes without crossing multiple streets. 

Our proposal is to upgrade our park to feature grassy areas, benches and tables, trees for shade, and include a splash pad for summer fun. We would like to adapt the tennis courts to accommodate pickleball, and/or basketball sports much loved by many in our community. Adding a quarter-mile path around the park will provide safety for those taking walks, encouraging more outdoor activities without the fear of multiple street crossings.

Numerous studies highlight the benefits of community parks and recreation spaces, demonstrating that they not only improve people's physical and mental health but also foster community engagement and cohesiveness while boosting property value (source: National Recreation and Park Association).
