The Issue

Hi I’m Jarrah, a BMX rider and enthusiast that’s local to the hills and I believe that Mundaring deserves a modern skatepark that reflects the growing riding community and the needs of local young people.

The current Mundaring Skatepark was built in 2004 and has seen no upgrades since. Over 20 years later, the park is outdated, lacking in features, and no longer suited to the level or variety of riders using it today. The layout is limited, the facilities are minimal, and it does not meet the standard of modern skateparks being built across Western Australia.

Sutherlands skatepark, the dream

We are asking the Shire of Mundaring to invest in a complete revamp of the skatepark, creating a safe, modern and well-designed space for skateboards, BMX, scooters and skateboard riders of all ages and skill levels.

The upgraded park should include:
• A dedicated bowl section
• A proper street section
• Improved flow and park layout
• Modern obstacles and riding features
• Better seating, shade and facilities for the community

Glenn Forrest jump track

This project would not only benefit local riders, but also the wider community and local businesses. Facilities like the Glen Forrest jumps already attract huge turnouts and visitors from across WA. A redesigned Mundaring Skatepark has the potential to become another major community hub and tourism drawcard for the hills area.

Young people in Mundaring deserve better recreational spaces, and the riding community deserves a park that supports progression, creativity and connection.

We are not asking for something excessive, just a skatepark that is modern, functional and built for the community that uses it every day.

Please support this petition and help bring a new skatepark to Mundaring.
