We the students of University of the People (UoPeople), demand that the University makes available, without further delay, a fully operational Office of the Registrar in California. Once we graduate with a Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree from UoPeople, we need notarization services to pursue the Higher Education of our choice, in the US or abroad.

The current inability to notarize academic documents is causing former students to not being able to apply for Apostille with the Secretary of State of California or for an Authentication Certificate with the state Public Notary Administrator. Consulates demand Apostilled notarized documents (or notarized documents with Authentication Certificates) to produce the necessary documents required by Universities around the world to validate a degree obtained abroad for further studies.

With its unique model, the University has opened the gates to access Higher Education; now we demand that the University remains true to its Mission, and proceeds quickly to remove this obstacle in the way of further Higher Education for its students. 

Many students have already had to cancel or postpone their application for Master programs due to not being able to submit the required documents. 

We ask the University to act now.
