Over the past two weeks, Gap & Levi’s made commitments to #PayUp! To date, an estimated $22 billion has been unlocked globally as a result of the #PayUp campaign and the 250,000+ of you who have signed, shared, and spoken up about our petition.
Three days ago, Atmos Magazine wrote: “the #PayUp movement has helped stop the biggest heist in fashion’s history. And it’s just getting started.”
And Atmos is right. We are just getting started.
Kohl’s, Anthropologie, Bestseller, Primark, and others are still refusing to make the #PayUp commitment — meanwhile, millions of their garment makers are facing food and housing insecurity around the globe.
As Remake continues to fight for garment makers’ stolen wages, we ask that you consider making a donation to our non-profit organization so that we can sustain this fight with full force.
Want to learn more about Remake and our work? Join us on July 31st for our virtual fundraiser, where we’ll share an update on the #PayUp campaign and an exclusive screening of Made In America, our latest documentary film that takes viewers into Los Angeles clothing factories to talk to local garment makers, designers, and a labor conditions inspector about the challenges faced by makers in the U.S. (Sign up here!)
