Our cry for Online Classes was met with a lot of judgement. Students were divided among themselves, some excited to finally experience campus life and some, anxious about their mental health struggles, physical limitations, and financial troubles. Finally, Delhi University reopened. The petition filed in Delhi High Court bought the outstation students some time to move to Delhi. And yet, a great number of us are struggling to catch up with information circulated in classes because we have not been able to make it all the way there.

Everybody, myself included, thought it was all over and that we had no hope left. But now, a great number of students and some student parties - who shall be unnamed; have come forward to fight against the unjust decision of the authorities to conduct Offline Exams for Even Semesters and OBEs for Odd Semesters. While we are happy for our peers, we are disappointed at the discrimination.

There is no shame in requesting Open Book Examinations. All our classes have been held online so far, none of us are mentally prepared to be writing offline exams in a restrictive environment.

I am reopening this petition, not for signatures, but for all the support from each and every one of you. I cannot stress how powerful we were when we joined forces when the petition began. Let’s do that again. The picture attached to this update is evidence enough that the administration has set aside our needs as unimportant and moved ahead with imposing their decisions on us.

So those of you in Delhi, join the other students and student parties rallying at the gates of DU to fight against this injustice towards us on Monday, April 4th. Let the authorities know that we students are just as important as everybody else. Let them know our fight is the most important, genuine, and valid of all.
