University College Union Strike BOYCOTT

University College Union Strike BOYCOTT
The Issue
If you are a university student this may effect you and your degree!
74 UK universities will be hit with 14 days of strike action in February and March. Starting Thursday 20th Feburary. Dates and Universities Effected
14 days doesn't sound long. But if you have important due dates and assessments when the strike happens, you may not get your degree.
Those who are striking have no obligation to attend lectures or even assessments on the stated dates. Which means that if the corresponding universities then dock the pay of the strikers, which they are entitled to do, those lectures also have no obligation to make up those days or even mark the assessments.
This means you will automatically fail that unit, and if you are a final year student, you will not be able to graduate.
We are not against the lectuters and other university staff who are striking about: pay and conditions (with the threat of a 20% cut to their pay); an attack on their pensions; and the gender pay gap. We want this strike stopped so that terms can be negotiated without any loss.
What can you do?
1. Sign this petition, so those effected can prove their support
2. Share this information to everyone you know, chances are they have no idea
3. Go to your Vice Chancellors and make them take this higher. They have the power to stop this, but they won't without your push.
