As part of a larger effort to push for racial equity at the University of Washington, we the students and community members demand that the University of Washington divest from prisons by the end of Spring 2017. We also demand that the University of Washington reinvest the amount it has profited from prison labor in students and community members who are or have been incarcerated.

For-profit prisons perpetuate mass incarceration and the school-to-prison pipeline, and run counter to the University's mission and values. Help us reinvest!
