After 4 years of passionate hard work, challenges, sacrifices and tens of thousands of dollars later, UofT grads deserve to walk across the stage and receive their well earned degree. The Class of 2021 spent the entirety of their senior year in a pandemic and missed out on many long-awaited experiences - we demand that graduation not be one of those missed experiences.

Graduation is a once in a lifetime celebration and every UofT graduate along with their friends and family deserve to celebrate this milestone in-person. Merely seeing our names pass by on a Youtube video does not do justice to all of our immense contributions and dedication to the UofT community. 

On July 31st, Ontario will move into Stage 3 of its reopening plan wherein "larger indoor and outdoor social gatherings and organized public events" will be allowed (Reopening Ontario, 2021, p1). Hence, as the undersigned we propose that all the three University of Toronto campuses conduct an in-person graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 during the Fall Convocation ceremony in November or during any other time in the future when it is safe and possible to do so.
